  1. Je parle un petit peu de francais- not enough to actually understand all of this, but enough to know it makes sufficiently little sense.

Could not resist hauling out google translate for this, sad as it is. (I, too, have only a bit of French, but enough to be intrigued.) Now, maybe it’s because I’ve been reading some language poetry alongside Mantel, but this fractured portrait of “Freedom” seems to make its own kind of sense. Did you use the Cage device to generate this?

    • Hey, I was pretty close! My French is better than I thought.

This was flarf. I had done a Google search for the interview with Gardiner I heard some time ago. I didn’t find the interview, but I thought I’d make use of the search anyway.

I never did use the Cage page. I did mesostics by hand, partly so I could ignore the rules if I felt like it. Sent via DroidX2 on Verizon Wireless™

      • I think the search keywords I used for this were obvious: “Liberte egalite fraternite.” I had toyed with the idea of doing a flarf poem in a language I knew nothing about. I thought first I’d try it out on a language that I could understand first. I also thought of flarfing using mixed French, Spanish, and German. Maybe I’ll do it but that would be a big mess!

Ignoring the rules when you feel like it is a credo to live by and one Cage would endorse, for sure.
