I would’ve liked to develop this more, but for the purposes of the class I only had one minute, Can’t develop much in that short a time.
I didn’t realize it when I was doing it, but whatever artistic demerits this thing has, what I ended up with is a subconscious tribute to two long-dead friends. The Beethoven represents one; the laughing little girl (the voice of my daughter) representing the other. The squawk is a recording of ATC trying to communicate with American Airlines Flight 191, which crashed on takeoff on May 25, 1979, killing 270.
