You know, my birthday is in a few days and I have really been reflecting upon little things like this. I do not mind aging, physically, it is the hindsight that gets to me.

The reason I ask is it’ s a bit difficult for me to step out of my frame of reference. This is a poem about a very specific event and a reaction to it, though that’s probably not obvious. (If it were, it wouldn’t be a poem!)
I’m with you about aging. Had enough friends who didn’t get that privilege.
