Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18, sung by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.
Since this blog is a lab of experimental creativity, I don’t typically post links to other people’s work, particularly somebody as famous as David Gilmour. However, I found this in the discussion forum in the Songwriting class, and I thought this was worth sharing, particularly for my Modpo compadres.
Too bad Roger, Richard, Nick, and the flying pigs weren’t available.
Well that was weird. Not the song, but that I had tears in my eyes when it was over. The sonnet has always been a favorite, and David Gilmour’s voice conjured up all sorts of (mostly) pleasant memories. Thank you for posting this, even if I do feel like a sentimental old fool right now.
That’s how I felt too when I heard it. It really moved me. That Will Shakespeare guy is not half bad a songwriter!
~smile~ Then I’m in good company.
Some might say otherwise! 😉
