inWhen this siren sounds
after steering station
take control
when all men are clear
of door pull
handle and hold
when door is closed
pull handle in
direction of arrow
be alert for unusual conditions

lighters
remedy defects immediately
other flame producing apparatus
know the safety devices in this station

they are in operation at all times
when door is closed

When this siren sounds
after steering station

inOn June 13, 2013 a microburst associated with a derecho struck Morrow Mountain State Park in Stanly County, NC with winds up to approximately 90 mph. The park was extensively damaged by thousands of downed trees, but incredibly no one was hurt or killed in the park. The park reopened with limited service on August 5. More than half the geographic area of the park, including the summit of Morrow Mountain, remains closed and will remain so until at least December, according to park staff. Only 3 of the 31 miles of trails in the park have been reopened due to falling trees and dangerous conditions. My children and I toured the open sections of the park and took some photos of the damage on the Laurel Trail (a half-mile hike), where we saw several hundred trees down, and near the Robert Kron home site.
