Mozart- Symphony No. 25 in G minor. I. Allegro con brio, performed by the Lee County Community Orchestra, Sanford, NC. May 13, 2013.
I’m the tall bass in the back, far stage left, with sunglasses hanging off my collar.
She’s lovely, a petite
stepping to the sparkling Steinway
before a sea of black
She bows to the audience,
unaware of the faces
forgetting to breathe
then sits before the Steinway,
closes her eyes,
silently waits one measure of tutti,
into the spirit of Mozart.
