It gets better than this, right?

I would play

baseball

with my friends in

my backyard, pretending

the responsibility falls on him.

Death pleaded

guilty to

a misdemeanor, charged with

murder of memories,

the image of Walter Payton turning a corner,

then Carlton Fisk

and Lance Armstrong-

Superman

former players denied entry,

panned, stars falling

from the sky.

The bigger they are

the harder they enjoy

pleading guilty

of attempting to tarnish

their superhero experience

while still riding the momentum

as a deafening stillness falls.
